Lt Colonel Jack Larry Kilcrease is a Granada, Mississippi native. He was a highly decorated combat helicopter pilot during the Vietnam conflict. During his military career, Kilcrease served in all leadership positions at the Company and Battalion levels, including Platoon Sergeant, Platoon Leader, Company Commander of Infantry units, Executive Officer of an Air Cavalry Troop, all during two combat tours in Vietnam.
After recovering from wounds received during his first tour in Vietnam, Kilcrease went on to serve another tour on the ground in Vietnam, in C Troop, 2-17 Cav, part of the 101st Airborne Division. Somewhere along the line, Sergeant First Class Kilcrease was awarded a battlefield commission.
Highly decorated, LTC Kilcrease was a life member of numerous other veterans’ organizations, including the VFW, Disabled American Veterans, Military Order of the Purple Heart, United States Army Ranger Association, World-Wide Army Ranger Federation, 1st Cavalry Division Association, 82nd Airborne Division Association, the 101st Airborne Division Association and the National Sojourners, Inc., a Masonic organization for military personnel and veterans.
N. Mississippi Chapter #554 is proud to honor his memory as the namesake for their Heroes of ’76 Camp.
